Log.Society #0008

Power is sustained by three mechanisms: 1. Law — allows those in power to establish desired rules and govern society through them. 2. Cult — shapes beliefs and ideology that lead people to perceive a particular order as right and natural. 3. The imitation of charity — creates an image of concern for people, helping gain their trust and conceal actual motives. The main idea is that power can be maintained not only through force, but also through laws, beliefs, and the appearance of care. People may willingly support a system without realizing whose interests it serves.
